How has this helped me:
This has helped me as a realise that she is discussing
personal topics. Not only this but topics that other genres eg. Pop would not
explore as they are too ‘deep’ for an audience to hear. Not only this but I have
learnt that she has written this song intentionally to get a reaction from a
listener, if she wanted everyone to agree with her, she would have told the
story in a different way. She wants people to know she isn’t perfect and is ‘damaged’
as it makes her a more relatable person to the indie target audience.
